In short
- Hearth is a budgeting tool. It is not a bank, a lender, an adviser, or a way to move money.
- Every figure in it is one you entered. We do not verify them and cannot correct them.
- Hearth Plus renews automatically until you cancel, and you cancel in your store account.
- Your data stays yours: export it or delete it at any time, free.
The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and InfoInlet, which operates Hearth. By creating an account you accept them. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live.
If you downloaded Hearth from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, except where these terms say otherwise. Apple is not responsible for Hearth or its support.
What Hearth is
Hearth is a manual record-keeping and budgeting application for a household. You enter what you earn, spend and owe; the app organises it, adds it up and reminds you what is coming.
What Hearth is not
It is not a bank account, a payment service, a lender, a broker or a financial adviser. It holds no money and moves none.
- It has no connection to your bank and cannot read your balance.
- It cannot pay a bill. Marking a bill paid records that you paid it.
- A savings goal is a plan, not an account. No money is set aside anywhere.
- Nothing in the app is financial, tax or investment advice.
Your records are your responsibility
Everything Hearth shows is calculated from what somebody in your household typed in. We do not check those figures against anything, because there is nothing to check them against.
Please do not rely on Hearth as your only record of anything that matters — a tax filing, a dispute, a loan application. Keep whatever record you would have kept anyway.
Your account and your household
- Keep your sign-in details secure. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you.
- Anyone you invite can see the household’s financial records, and what they may change depends on the role you give them. An invitation is a decision about who sees your money.
- Records belong to the household rather than to the person who entered them. If you leave, or your account is deleted, records you created stay with the household for the people still in it.
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Hearth Plus, the free trial and billing
- Plans: Hearth Plus is a subscription, offered monthly or yearly. The price in your currency is shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment: charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. We never see your card.
- Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling: manage or cancel in your App Store account settings or Google Play subscriptions. You keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Free trial: the 7-day free trial is started in the app, once per account. It needs no payment details, and nothing is charged when it ends — Hearth returns to the free plan.
- Welcome offer: a discounted first subscription may be offered once, to new accounts. Its price and period are shown before you buy, and it renews as described above.
- Refunds: handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. We cannot issue one on their behalf.
The free plan
The free plan includes one household, two members and two savings goals. Hearth Plus removes those limits. Exporting your data and deleting your account are free on every plan, and are not limited in any way.
Acceptable use
- Use Hearth for your own household’s finances.
- Do not attempt to access another household’s records, or to interfere with or overload the service.
- Do not use Hearth, or its invitations, for anything unlawful or abusive.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Hearth available and correct, but it is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for financial decisions made using it, or for loss arising from an interruption or an error in it, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Hearth in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Hearth at any time and delete your account from More → tap your name → Delete your account. Deletion is permanent: a household you own alone is erased with its records, so export first if you want a copy. See Delete your account. Deleting your account does not cancel Hearth Plus — cancel it in your store account.
We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and will say why where we can.
Changes and contact
If these terms change materially, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
