Cancel Hearth Plus first
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account, or it will keep renewing. How to cancel.
Delete from the app
- Open Hearth and go to the More tab.
- Tap your name at the top to open your profile.
- Tap Delete your account, then Continue.
- Confirm with your password. If you sign in with Apple or Google, tap I sign in with Apple or Google and type DELETE.
Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone. Export your data first — it’s on the same screen — if you want a copy.
If you own a household other people are still in, Hearth will ask you to hand it over (More → Household settings → Hand over the household) or delete it first, because its records belong to them too.
Request by email
If you can’t use the app, email us from the address of your Hearth account, or tell us that address. We will confirm the request comes from the account holder and complete it within 30 days. We will never ask for your password.
What gets deleted
- Your account: name, email address, sign-in and password hash, and the link to Sign in with Apple or Google.
- Your profile settings, notification preferences, notification inbox and registered devices.
- Every household you own alone, with all its records: accounts, transactions, transfers, categories, budgets, bills, repeating entries, savings goals, invitations and its activity log.
What stays, and what we may keep
- Shared households. In a household that continues with other members, the records you entered stay, because they belong to that household. They are shown under your display name; your email address is removed.
- Backups. Copies in our providers’ backups are overwritten as those backups expire.
- Purchase records held by Apple or Google, which they keep under their own policies.
- Anything we are legally required to retain.
Deleting a household without deleting your account
Owners can delete a household from More → Household settings → Delete household. It disappears for every member at once and is permanently erased, with all its records, 30 days later.
